My Mac Cosmetics Collection So Far...

Today I thought I would give you a little look into my Mac Cosmetics Collection, this is not an overview of my whole make-up collection just a little insight into the products I own by Mac.
I felt a little brave today and decided to do some lip swatches for you guys too, hopefully you like them!

from left to right: Boxed Studio Fix Fluid, Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation, Studio Fix Fluid, Prolongwear Concealer and Boxed Prolong wear Concealer

The Base Products I have from Mac are foundations and concealers, they are all in the shade NC15 which is my colour match when I don't have false tan on. I don't have any shades from Mac which would match my false tan as the majority of the time I order online, so I am a little bit unsure of which shade would be for me. I also have a Prep and Prime sample from Mac somewhere, which I have absolutely fallen in love with and I am for sure going to purchase the full size on my next splurge.
I love using Stuido Fix Fluid for them days when I want some good coverage for an occassion and I always go back to the pro longwear concealer, however I'm not to convinced with the Waterproof foundation it feels very thin and the coverage just isn't for me I think when I purchased this I got it confused with the Pro Sculpt foundation which I want to try.

From Left to Right: Sheer Blush #511 & Matte Blush in Melba

Unfortunately I don't own any bronzer's from Mac and not that many blushes either..
On the left of the picture is a blush which I was given as a gift many years ago, this is from an old collection of Mac's which had a red embellium on the packaging but I can't seem to find any trace of the collection online. I like to use this blush when I have a tan as it is quite a bright pink and has little gold specks within it which looks beautiful on bronzed skin.
The blush on the right is called Melba a powder Matte blush, fortunately this blush works on any skin shade as an all round everyday shade to me it's a soft pink with undertones of brown in it; on the Mac cosmetics website they describe it as 'soft coral peach'.

Left to Right: Soft and Gentle & Lightscapade

Other than my lip products my highlighters are my beloved makeup product! These Mineralise Skin Finishes are to die for, I own Soft and Gentle and Lightscapade. For my everday makeup look if I don't want to highlight my cheek bones I place a little bit of one of these on the bridge of my nose and I feel so much more put together,  Soft and Gentle gives off more of a golden highlight whereas Lightscapade is beautiful on pale skin and looks amazing underneath your brow bone!

Of course for all of these products you need your makeup tools...

Left to Right: 150 Large Powder Brush, 168 Large Angled Contour Brush, 109 Small Contour Brush and 188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush

To make sure my face is all blended together apart from the obvious beauty blender we need to have some brushes in our kit ***magic wands*** cough cough.
I only own four of mac brushes at the moment as they aren't the most affordable to pick up whenever we feel like it, I currently own the 150 Large Powder Brush, 168 Large Angled Contour Brush, my 109 Small Contour Brush and the 188 Small Duo Fibre.
I think my favourite of all of these has to be the 109 Small Contour Brush,  I love the finish of my contour when using this.. It's the perfect shape to just get right underneath your cheekbone to create that flawless shadow.

Lips Lips Lips

Left to Right: Edge to Edge, Spice and Cherry

I'm going to say it... Mac have to be my favourite brand for lipliners.
The formula they use is so creamy, it never fails to glide on my lips like silk. I have had Cherry for a while which is the most vibrant red but my newest additions are Edge to Edge and Spice, these have become my everyday shades. Edge to Edge for when I want to wear a pink lippie and Spice when I want a nude, they create such beautiful combo's with so many lipsticks.

My swatches are straight from the camera unedited for you guys, so you can see exactly how the colour performs on a natural lip colour.

The biggest part of my collection has to be Mac Lipsticks, I can not get enough of them and I need more!

Back Row: Rebel, Ravishing, Russian Red, Velvet Teddy.
Front Row: Snob, Shy Girl and Peach Blossom.

I probably have every colour you'll every need for those iconic looks, but so far I have Rebel (Satin Finish) the vampy purple in the back followed by Ravishing (Cream Sheen) which is a beautiful glossy orange, I feel like it is more on the peach side but it does look orange at first sight. Russian Red (Matte) the most classic red you'll ever need, I love how this is a blue tone Red as it suits my cool toned skin much more than warmer reds;  followed by Velvet Teddy (Matte), Kylie Jenner's Go To.

On the bottom line there is Snob (Matte) which is a blue toned pink which is a nice bright baby pink, Shy Girl (Cream Sheen) my everyday nude shade which is the reason it is so much smaller than the others, I really like to pair this with either Edge to Edge or Spice Lipliner. Last but not least we have Peach Blossom (Cream Sheen) which is my newest lip colour, this coloured pink is so stunning it makes your lips look so natural with a hint of colour I just love how it looks on my lips and makes me feel so put together for a natural look.

Left to Right: Ravishing, Russian Red, Peach Blossom, Shy Girl, Velvet Teddy, Snob and Rebel.

Which lipstick do you need to add to your collection from this post and which one do I need to add from yours? Let me down in the box below!

Empties and Regrets

When starting my blog one of the post's I really wanted to do was a Empties and Regrets post, I was inspired to do this by watching Shaaanxo's videos on youtube so I thought I could try and convert the idea into a blog post it may not be as entertaining but I love the concept of the idea and for the past few months, I've been collecting all of the empty products I have used up!

Let's start with makeup...

Since around December I have managed to use up four makeup products from my makeup collection, most of them mainly from the Collection range. I have used the bottle of Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation in Ivory, the Collection Pressed Powder in Light and the Collection Extreme 24 hour felt tip eyeliner.
I absolutely love the felt tip eye liner, this has been my go to liner for everyday wear and I believe I have gone through at least five of them since reaching for my very first one; the nib starts thick and then goes into a thin point perfect for building a wing and a thicker middle.

I also managed to use up my They're Real Mascara from Benefit, I bought this in August 2015 I didn't use it on a daily basis but this year began using it more and more. In all honesty I don't think I will re purchase this as I do prefer benefit's That Gal mascara I like the difference in the formula and how they make my lashes perform.

Moving on to bathroom goodies, I used up all of my Colgate Max White Mouthwash, I purchased this as I started to use the toothpaste version and noticed a big difference in the whiteness of my teeth; the sensational mint flavour makes your mouth feel fresh and polished!

Once again all of my Clean and Clear Morning Energy is used up, this is the face wash I always go back to I've used many different face washes and haven't found one which I like more than this. Other's can make me feel 'squeaky' clean which I don't like, whereas I love the scent of this and it helps me to feel ready for my day.

I finally managed to finish my Rich and Foamous body wash from Soap and Glory, this was in my favourites a few weeks back and it was half way finished then.. I think I need a new one and fast I need that baked cookies scent in my life.

I've been through a few lotions and potions most of them are to keep my fake tan looking new. I finished two St Tropez products, the Tan Optimizer and the gradual Tanner which I loved to keep a tan during those weeks at work when I just don't have the time to put a new batch of fake tan on throughout the week, I think I may try the darker shade of the gradual tanner next time just to give me that bit more tan.

I used up one of my timeless classics my Anti Blemish Moisturiser by Simple, I have used this product for years and for a long time felt like it was the only moisturiser which worked for me I notice a difference in my skin when I stop using this the minimal ingredients keep my breakouts at bay.  I used up all of my Body Butter from the Superdrug range they were on 2 for 1 at the time, I bought the Coconut and Sweet Lime Scent and the Cocoa Butter Scent which I gave away. However I fell in love with the Coconut and Lime Scent, it made my skin feel like it could breathe and it soaked up easily.

The fragrances I managed to finish were my Dove deodarant and my Impulse body spray in my favourite scent Be Surprised, this is another product I always find myself reaching for off the shelf.

Last but not least the products which I regret...

The biggest purchase regret is Superdrug's Vitamin E Leave on Moisture Mask, I have been holding on to this for a long while because I really wanted to love it but I tried and tried; I just couldn't like the product. For some reason on my skin it stung, I don't know why this is, I tried using different methods it just didn't work for me it has a gel like consistency a bit unusual compared to other moisture mask's I've tried but maybe it will work for you?

The St Tropez Tan Optimiser is not something which I regret buying but I feel like there are better body exfoliator's out on the market for a better price, I prefer a exfoliator which is a hard scrub I know people will say it's bad for your skin but I prefer the bigger chunk scrubs such as RubRubRub by Lush or my Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub; I just seem to find these work better for me.

Moving on to the Collection items, the foundation was something which I wanted to use up to get rid of.. sounds harsh but I really begrudge throwing away a full bottle of foundation. So I persevered with it, here I have the lightest shade and for every day at work it was just too dark for me and I was constantly mixing it with another foundation to lighten the colour; the coverage however was medium to full coverage which is great for a drug store foundation!
The pressed powder was again too dark for me I chose Light, usually I would choose transparent I don't know if they just didn't have the shade when I purchased it or if they don't stock it at all.. I found that it could go a little patchy throughout the day too it ended up with the other empty's because it broke in my handbag after I hit pan, I much prefer Collection's Loose Powder over their Compact.

What product do you always find yourself re-purchasing?

February Favourites

Choosing my monthly favourites for February was fairly easy to do this month due to the fact I have just been in love with so many products, at first I limited myself and only chose six items to show in this post and then I thought what the hell! If you love it, share it!
My favourites are all beauty products this month: fragrances, make-up and skin care.

There are a few items in here which I have been using for longer than the four weeks, just because they are staples which I am constantly going back to and I'm sure in the many months of blogging to come you'll begin to realise my patterns of what brands and type's of products I love the most. I can't wait to try some new products throughout March and I am definitely going to make it my mission to try some new things and add to my collection!

Fragrances

I have got two fragrances to share with you this month the first being a new discovery of mine which is a fragrance by the Beckham range, Victoria Beckham's Intimately Beckham for her has now become what I call my 'weekend perfume'. When you read the description of this perfume, it states that it is a 'floral' scent which I disagree with because I am really not a floral girl I much prefer sweet scents; to me it smells very clean  it does have a soft smell to it you can definitely smell the sandalwood and vanilla which are very complimentary together.

Next I chose to feature an every day staple of mine Impulse's Be Surprised, I found this late last year and haven't been without it since. I can't find a body spray which I like more, I think it's the red fruits featured which keep me going back. I wear this every single day and don't feel complete without a little spritz!

Skin Care

For skin care I have recently been obsessed with Soap and Glory, I can feel an addiction occurring because I just can not get enough of their products. I am absolutely in love with their Rich and Foamous body shower creme, to the point that I have about 3 pumps of it left the sweet scent makes me feel so relaxed and smells the house out as if somebody has been baking away all day! I like to use it before bed or when I have had a rubbish day and need a little bit of luxury to pick me back up. I will definitely be repurchasing this and can't wait to try more from this range.

I've also been liking their sugar crush body scrub for some people this may be to strong and citrusy, I like to use this to scrub off any remaining fake tan; the smell of lemons and lime make me feel motivated and awake to get on with my day.

It was only at the beginning of the month I discovered Soap and Glory's Beauty Sleep Accelerator, this has literally changed my skin if I use this the night before I wake up and my skin feels hydrated it looks healthy and plump. The texture is like a balm and feels a little strange on your skin but is definitely worth it, I will be taking this on holiday with me in September for sure to hydrate my skin on a long haul flight!

As you can see in the picture I have involved my much beloved Let The Good Times Roll from Lush, which has already been mentioned in my Lush Haul post. I use this on the days when I feel as though I have worn a lot of make-up, my skin feels amazing after one little pea size of this beauty.

I've started to realise that my skin is more dehydrated than oily as it has changed over the years and now is going through a dry stage, for Christmas I was given a couple of hydrating masks and the brand is called Beauty Junky; Shea Butter Cleansing and Revitalising Mud Face Mask. They are only 50p and you can get them from Pep and Co stores, I actually asked my friend if they could pick me up some more as they have to be the best nourishing mask I have ever tried! So for 50p, I keep my skin care draw nice and stocked.

Make-up

I have always loved Mac as a make-up brand but this month I seem to be using it much more than usual, in my last online shop from them they sent me a little sample of their prep and prime skin base... I NEED this in full size, it is amazing not only has it got little glitter in it which you can't feel on your skin it makes your makeup last for such a long time and feels so silky on your face.

I recently found my new favourite everyday pink lipstick, which is called 'Peach Blossom' the formula is a Cream Sheen finish it just gives a nice subtle colour to your lips and pulls any everyday makeup look together. I like to pair it with their 'Edge to Edge' lipliner as they go perfectly together, I have also been loving Spice even though this has been raved about for a while now it has only just become a part of my makeup collection and it is probably safe to say my favourite lipliner so far.

I have managed to discover a new concealer this month which isn't mac or my trusty collection lasting perfection, Rimmel's Match Perfection has stole my heart this month. I actually need to replace it as I have used it all up! I'm not so keen on the brush applicator but the formula, coverage and colour is a steal for me, perfect for whatever type of look your going for.

Last of all is my Model in A Bottle Setting Spray, I purchased this about half a year ago from Amazon and I didn't like it... However this year I decided to give it another go. Considering it say's for sensitive skin it has a strong 'alcohol' scent to it and to be honest I'm not so keen about spraying it on my face, but I have to say I have noticed a difference in how my make-up holds when I wear this. It helps to combat powders and liquids breaking up and keeps my face from looking patchy, because this is a problem I do tend to have I am going to continue using this and I am glad I went back to it!

Try and try again girls!

What is the one staple you can't live without?

All my love

Hannah
